Welcome to Southeast Striders Walking Club!
Southeast Striders Walking Club in Athens, Georgia, is an affiliate of America’s Walking Club (aka American Volkssport Association – www.AVA.org). We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage everyone, regardless of level of fitness, to get out, exercise, and have fun doing it. Our Trailmasters create safe and interesting 5 and 10 kilometer walk events in and around Athens. Our motto is “Fun, Fitness and Friendship”. Our walking activities are open to everyone.
Next Walk: Saturday, Oct. 25 – Watson Mill Bridge State Park 6K and 11K. Meet in the main parking lot at 9:45am, step off at 10:00am to begin the walk. 6Kwill be a guided walk; 11k walkers will be provided printed walk instructions. Start Point: Watson Mill Bridge State Park, 650 Watson Mill, Comer, GA. Watson Mill Bridge State Park is a 1,018-acre Georgia state park located near Comer, GA on the South Fork of the Broad River. The park is named for the Watson Mill Bridge, the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, which spans 229 feet across the South Fork of the Broad River. $4 to walk, $11 for T-shirts.
