Welcome to Southeast Striders Walking Club!

Southeast Striders Walking Club in Athens, Georgia, is an affiliate of America’s Walking Club (aka American Volkssport Association – www.AVA.org). We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage everyone, regardless of level of fitness, to get out, exercise, and have fun doing it. Our Trailmasters create safe and interesting 5 and 10 kilometer walk events in and around Athens. Our motto is “Fun, Fitness and Friendship”. Our walking activities are open to everyone.

Next Walk: Saturday, May 16, 2026 – Sandy Creek Nature Center 6k and 11K.  Arrive at 9:15am, step off at 9:30am to begin the walk.  6K will be a guided walk; 11k walkers will be provided printed walk instructions.  Start point: Sandy Creek Nature Center, 205 Old Commerce Road, Athens, GA. Restrooms are available at the start point.  Both the 6k and 11K route is away from traffic, on a smooth surface with a well-marked trail. Most of the route is shaded. There is a great photo op at Rainbow Forest. Sandy Creek Nature Center is interesting for adults and children. $4 to walk, $11 for short sleeve or $15 for long sleeve T-shirts.  Lunch after the walk at Tacos Los Plebes at 675 Danielsville Rd, Athens, GA 30601 – just a short 5 minute drive from the walk.  POC: Harold Weber / Marie Weber, 904-704-8402 / 904-703-8403..
